Single Mother from Warren Endorses Copple

My name is Tonya Brummitt, and I’m a single mom living in Warren, Michigan.

I’m endorsing Bert Copple for Congress because I think he is one of the few Republicans out there who really understands what it means to struggle to make ends meet.  I like the fact that he lives in my neighborhood.  I like the fact that he has children about the same age as mine.  I like the fact that he has never been a politician, and he understands what we’re facing here in this District.

What really appeals to me is the sense of urgency he has in fixing the Social Security system so that my daughter and my future grandchildren aren’t footing the bill for a much larger, older population.  It isn’t fair to them, and I believe him when he says he wants to do something about it.

I also appreciate the fact that he is a Republican who understands that taxes hurt lower income families.  His proposal to eliminate federal taxes on the first $25,000 of everyone’s income is a really fair tax idea, so that everyone benefits, and single mothers like me can afford child care so we can work more and earn more.

I am a Democrat, and this year I’ll be voting for Republican Bert Copple for Congress.
